Artist Statement

In my work, I explore the blurred boundaries between the human form and the organic world. One with Nature captures a moment of total metamorphosis, depicting a woman whose identity is literally blooming. By integrating vibrant leaves and a central flower directly into her silhouette, I aim to show that we are not merely observers of the environment, but an intrinsic part of its anatomy.

I chose stained glass for this piece because of its transformative relationship with light. As the sun moves, the colors within the glass shift and breathe, mimicking the constant change found in a living forest. The rigid lead lines provide a structural skeleton for the organic, flowing shapes of the petals and foliage, representing the balance between human structure and natural wildness.

Through this piece, I invite the viewer to reconsider their own connection to the earth. I hope to evoke a sense of rootedness and peace, reminding us that when we protect the natural world, we are essentially protecting ourselves.
