2026 Juried Exhibition
CONTAIN
Entry Deadline: Friday, October 24, 2025
Exhibit Dates: January 9 - 30, 2026, 5:30 - 7PM
This exhibit will explore vessels as 3D objects, but also depictions of vessels and vessels as metaphor. We are seeking to display a mix of 3D and 2D work, so artists of all mediums are encouraged to apply. The concept of the vessel is open to the artist's interpretation: a ceramic bowl, a drawing of a still life, a photograph of a ship, a painting of an expecting mother, or an abstract depiction of the mind. The possibilities are endless!
Annual Members’ Exhibit
Dandelion
Drop off Dates: Tuesday Jan 27 - Tuesday Feb 3, 2026
Reception Date: Friday, February 13, 2026, 5:30 - 7PM
Exhibit Dates: February 13 - March 14, 2026
The color for the 2026 Members' Show is yellow! Yellow is a bright, cheerful color commonly associated with positive emotions. This brilliant color is often found in nature (sunflowers, bees, corn) and is widely used in society to keep us safer (signs, roads, buses). When you think of a yellow flower, the humble dandelion might jump to mind. But, did you know that the word dandelion can be interpreted as a visual pun? A dandy referred to fashionable gentlemen in the 18th and 19th centuries, and the lion is a well known icon of nobility. Put them together and you get a handsome dandy lion! So, use yellow to create something incredible, and/or explore the concept of a visual pun! We can't wait to see what you come up with!
Please note: This is NOT a juried show. You do not need to submit your work for consideration prior to the show. All member artists are invited to submit up to 2 pieces. Artists creating pieces with special installation requirements should reach out to our Gallery Director, Abria Donato prior to drop off at gallerydirector@carlislearts.org.
