Imagine yourself flying overhead in the darkness of night or foraging on the ground searching for something delicious to eat! Perhaps you are undercover avoiding predators that might find you in daylight! Nocturnal animals are very intriguing and awesome to draw! Learn about several animals that are nocturnal, diurnal, or crepuscular! You will acquire knowledge as to how to make them look scaly, furry, or feathery by using graphite and colored pencils.  You won’t want to miss this unique learning experience!
***Students should have drawing experience as this is not a class for beginners

Required Supply List:

  • 9X12 inch drawing pad-50 sheets, 70 lbs. 

  • Set of graphite pencils-2H, 4H, 6H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B

  • Pencil sharpener

  • Eraser

  • Sand eraser

  • Set of colored pencils

  • Set of paper blending sticks (assorted sizes)

  • Uni-ball Signo-UM-153 white gel pens for highlights

Students may bring electronic devices to use for drawing references or can bring copies of the following animals:

  • Flying fox bat

  • Scorpion

  • Pangolin

  • Rabbit

  • Quoll

  • Quokka

  • Aardvark

  • Badger

  • Barred owl

  • Chinchilla

  • Kakapo bird

Refund and Cancellation Policies:

As a nonprofit organization, the Carlisle Arts Learning Center reserves the right to cancel a course that does not meet minimum enrollment requirements, or postpone any program or activity due to unforeseen circumstances. When the Carlisle Arts Learning Center cancels a class, registered students automatically receive a credit towards another class. It is the students responsibility to contact CALC to fulfill this credit. CALC will provide full refunds in the case of a cancelled class when necessary.

In order to request a withdrawal from a class or workshop, students must contact CALC at least 72 hours before the first class date. Students who request a withdrawal before the 72 hour period will receive a 90% refund or 100% class credit. Students withdrawing fewer than 72 hours before the first day of class are not eligible for a refund or class credit.

Please note we are unable to provide make-up opportunities, prorate or provide refunds for missed classes due to personal scheduling conflicts.
