Artist Statement
We are very lucky to be surrounded by nature in Pennsylvania. My husband’s company gave us a choice as to where we would be transferred, when the location where he worked was closing. All of the green spaces we saw on the maps of PA were a large part of the final decision we made to transfer here. We never regretted it. I walk or hike several days a week and the proximity to the AT and State Parks and Forests is wonderful. I have seen and photographed so many beautiful sites, plants, and animals, that it made it difficult to decide what photos to enter in this exhibit. Since I try to photograph things other folks might miss, I ultimately decided on Pole Steeple Pinnacles because people are so awestruck by the view, they often forget to look behind themselves. I decided on Not a Dandelion because jelly fungi are relatively small and the close up revealed the, usually, unseen beauty.
