In this workshop, participants will create collagraph-style printing plates using accessible materials such as foam, paper, string, and adhesive-backed surfaces. Prints will be made without a press, using hand-burnished or brayer-based transfer methods. The emphasis is on texture, layering, and image development through simple construction techniques.

In this class students will:

• Understand the basic idea of collagraph printing and how it differs from other printmaking methods.

• Build a printing surface using everyday and easily cut materials.

• Learn how to create texture, relief, and pattern through simple construction.

• Explore printing methods that do not require a press.

• Produce a series of finished prints and gain a repeatable process for future work.

Refund and Cancellation Policies:

As a nonprofit organization, the Carlisle Arts Learning Center reserves the right to cancel a course that does not meet minimum enrollment requirements, or postpone any program or activity due to unforeseen circumstances. When the Carlisle Arts Learning Center cancels a class, registered students automatically receive a credit towards another class. It is the students responsibility to contact CALC to fulfill this credit. CALC will provide full refunds in the case of a cancelled class when necessary.

In order to request a withdrawal from a class or workshop, students must contact CALC at least 72 hours before the first class date. Students who request a withdrawal before the 72 hour period will receive a 90% refund or 100% class credit. Students withdrawing fewer than 72 hours before the first day of class are not eligible for a refund or class credit.

Please note we are unable to provide make-up opportunities, prorate or provide refunds for missed classes due to personal scheduling conflicts.
