Join the CALC Creative Team!
Executive DirectoR
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Around 1993 or ’94, I was invited to join that scrappy group of folks who thought Carlisle would be a better place to live if they created a dedicated art center; developed a gathering place for like-minded (and even not like-minded) folks; a place for kids to find their niche; a place for creating the physical manifestations of ideas and for creating lasting friendships and valuable relationships.
All this, and more, have come to pass as CALC has flourished with the support of the greater Carlisle community. I have been privileged to meet so many amazing people, now life long friends and acquaintances. I have been able to learn from people from all walks of life and feel blessed to have had a creative life in the arts!
I am ready to pass that opportunity on as I prepare to step back into a smaller role at CALC.
The CALC Board of Directors is beginning the search for an Executive Director to lead us into the next phase of our evolution. Our mission remains the same – to empower individuals to create positive change which in turn continues to improve the spaces we all live in.
I hope you will see me in the classroom, learning or instructing. I also plan to return to the Artfull Aging program, facilitating art experiences in area nursing homes which I started at least 15 years ago and eventually rolled into a CALC program.
Thank you for the enormous amount of support that I have felt as the gallery director and executive director during the last 14 years.
We have a saying at CALC that “you never really leave”. My experience proves it true and I look forward to continue to work with the amazing team we have on board and to spend more time with paint on my hands!
Cheers, Cathy Stone
