Alive & Well 2020 by Nicole Dube

I think most of us feel overwhelmed right now. During the first few days of our pandemic lock down, I found myself looking out my windows at my neighbors’ houses and wondering how they were faring. Knowing that it’s safe to go outside if we maintain a healthy social distance, I thought I could check in on friends and neighbors in order to report them "alive and well." Since Carlisle is a small town and a tight-knit community, I hoped this might provide some degree of solace. I thought other people might also find comfort in the smiling faces of our families, friends and neighbors. The first neighbor I checked in on was a family of seven living across the street but I have also checked in on single people going it alone with their pets. We’re all in this together, for the sake of each other. Stay home. Wash your hands. Choose people over money!
