IN AN EFFORT TO STAY CONNECTED WITH OUR MEMBER ARTISTS, WE THOUGHT WE WOULD VISIT THEIR STUDIOS AND SHARE A BIT OF THEIR WORK IN PROGRESS WITH YOU.
• TODAY WE WILL FEATURE JON CARRAHER •
I am a self-taught fantasy artist with most of my work being done through imagination and dreams. I work mainly in oils to create fine art mythical themed paintings. I love spending time in nature, studying the elements as much of that goes into my work, as well as a love for fairy tales and folklore. My goal with my work is to be able to tell a story and invite anyone to be part of it as they gaze into the depths of each scene.
This is one of the paintings I'm currently working on. It's a mother opossum keeping her babies safe inside of a hollow mossy tree stump.
Here is a little snippet of a sketch for a series of illustrations I'm working on for a children's book.
It's a top secret project at this point, but stayed tuned for more to be revealed soon!
This is a painting I just recently finished of a vision I had about a dragon from another world
in the midst of morphing through forms of different animals. This is one of my favorite
paintings I've done and I'm very happy to share it.
