THIS WEEK, WE FEATURE STUDENTS FROM THE CARLISLE AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT.  THESE STUDENTS DESERVE A SHOUT-OUT FOR THEIR DEDICATION TO THEIR WORK RIGHT UP TO THIS LAST WEEK OF "CLASSES"!  WELL DONE, STAFF AND STUDENTS!
•THIS WEEK WE FEATURE: DINELA DEDIC •

Hello! I'm Dinela Dedic, I'm 15, heading out of 9th grade, and I am a local Carlisle artist! You might recognize my name from the Color Carlisle project where a bunch of artists, including me, painted electric boxes around town. Mine is by the Hanover Grille! I just wanted to give you some insight on my artistic process when creating artwork. Enjoy!

When it's nice out, I like to work outside! The lighting is wonderful and plus, I get some fresh air.

When it comes to references, I either use images online or actual objects around my house; though I do prefer using real objects.

Here's where the magic happens! Someday when I have my own place, I hope to have a studio

where I can create graphic novels and do commissions to make art for a living.

Naithan.jpg

This is my original character, Naithan, painted with watercolors. It is my dream to make

a series of graphic novels where I can bring his story to life. Hopefully, in the future you'll find

them on the shelves of your local bookstore!

Another piece, completed! Acrylic pieces can take me somewhere between three to eight hours,

depending on how detailed it is. This one is going to my aunt who is working bravely in response of the Corona Virus.
