Children Thrive with the Basics 5!

2024

with United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County

Did you know that 80% of brain development happens before age 3, and 90% by age 5? That’s why the first five years of life are so critical to children’s learning. The Basics 5 are five simple ways that children learn and grow, and this exhibit showcases new artworks that visualize positive loving interactions. CALC worked together with United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County to develop a project that helps community members identify and recall each of these methods through five original artworks. Selected artists used their own lived experience to inform and create their works, each using exciting approaches to a variety of artistic media.
