IN AN EFFORT TO STAY CONNECTED WITH OUR MEMBER ARTISTS, WE THOUGHT WE WOULD VISIT THEIR STUDIOS AND SHARE A BIT OF THEIR WORK IN PROGRESS WITH YOU.

I am a mixed media artist. I have been quilting for 20 plus years, and I enjoy making collages incorporating lots of different mediums. I really love all sorts of fiber arts, and there has been a lot of hand embroidery popping up the past few years. Since the quarantine, I decided to do some embroidery, and I am finding it very relaxing.
The embroidery hoop is 4". The fabric is Osnaburg, which is sort of a cross between linen and muslin. It makes a great base to embroider on.
I did back-stitch for the outlines, and satin stitch to fill in the triangles.
I used the extra floss to make the tassel. I think it adds a nice touch.
Here is my next work in progress...
I drew my design on sketch paper, and lightly traced it onto the fabric with a pilot pen.
Choosing the floss colors is one of my favorite things to do.
I have several more designs sketched out, and lots of embroidery floss. It is the perfect thing to work on in the evening.
