Camp Cancellation Policy- 25% of the fee is non-refundable.  There is no refund if the camper cancels within 14 days of the start of camp. Campers are not allowed to transfer or switch camps within 7 days of the start of camp.

Begin your summer with dreams of the beach. Projects include painting waves, making 3-D tropical fish, sand painting, and creating collages  and jewelry using materials found on the beach such as shells and sea glass.

ALL About Animals

Camp #2/June 11-15 ~ 8:30-11:30 a.m.
This is a camp for all of the animal & bug lovers! We will create art inspired by creatures BIG and small using paint, patterns, printmaking, and lots of other typical and atypical art materials.

7 Continents of Fiber Fun!

Camp #3/June 18-22 ~ 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Create fiber arts from the seven continents including indigo dying from Asia, weaving and beadwork from the Americas, mud cloth and basketry from Africa and that’s just 3 continents! Campers will dye a t-shirt, print a tote bag, learn to weave 2 ways and much more.

Art Investigators

Collage & Assemblage Art

Camp #6/July 9-13 ~ 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Source words and images from magazines and newspapers to create an abstract portrait of yourself or a loved one. Learn about surrealism and make a wacky composite image inspired by Salvador Dali. Use unconventional materials like bottle caps, seeds, and bubble-wrap to construct a mixed-media masterpiece.

Nature Art

Camp #7/July 16-20 ~ 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Make crafts that you can display outdoors, learn how to repurpose recyclable objects and use natural materials to make unique works of art. Projects include painting a wooden birdhouse, constructing a wind chime with natural and found materials, and designing a decorative memory jar that brings elements of the outdoors inside.

Cartooning & Character Design

Camp #8/July 23-27 ~ 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Draw cartoon characters from your favorite comic books, television shows, and graphic novels. Learn about the pop art movement and create an Andy Warhol-inspired self-portrait. Design a character with an original personality and backstory then bring them to life in your own original multi-panel comic.

Paint, Print, or Photograph?

Week #9 July 30-August 3

FULL DAY ~ 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

How can you tell the difference between paintings, photographs, and prints? Become an art detective as you examine the lines, textures, and effects specific media bring to a final work of art. Students will work in teams to uncover clues in art scavenger hunts and games. Through interactive experiments, students will have the opportunity to test various media tools and techniques, and select their favorites for creating final projects.
Each day starts at CALC and ends at the Trout Gallery.  Campers need to bring a lunch.

20th Century Art & Artists

Camp #11/August 6-10 ~ 1:00-4:00 p.m.
This week will focus on a different 20th Century artist each day. Campers will learn about these artists and create projects inspired by them. We’ll use
plaster sculpture to make some Henry Moore inspired sculptures, self portrait collage like Frida Kahlo, color field paintings alla Helen Frankenthaler, mobiles like Alexander Calder’s, Bridget Riley-esque Op art and Alberto Giocometti figure sculptures using wire,paper masche paste. So much awesome art inspiration!!

Mixed Media Stories

Week #12 Aug 13-17
FULL DAY ~ 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

By exploring powerful images from the Re-Riding History exhibition on view, students will engage in an exploration of storytelling across media. How do you tell a story through art? What does a story in song look like? What about in dance? In visual art, can you use more than one material to tell your story? Yes, you can! Students will be encouraged to create individual art stories using paper, canvas, paint, ink, textiles, found materials, and more.


Each day starts at CALC and ends at the Trout Gallery.  Campers need to bring a lunch.

Art of Improv

Session A: June 18-22

(Each session is a separate camp, sign up for each session separately)
Learn the basics of improv, storytelling and stagecraft. Every day we play games, create stories, perform scenes and generally have a blast! On the final day, we will show off our amazing new skills in a performance for friends and family.
