Summer Art Camp Assistant Coordinator Intern: Unpaid
May-August: 25-30 hours per week
CALC will work with intern’s summer break schedule and specific college internship requirements, including internship duration, number of hours, specific career interests and goals within a major. CALC is a vibrant art center with extensive education, gallery and outreach programs so additional duties can be honed to relate to intern’s major, career goals, and interests. CALC believes this is a growth opportunity for a college student and is willing to work with an intern to maximize learning and relevant experience.
Intern must desire to work with youth ages 5-15, be responsible, reliable, driven, a good decision maker, and believe the arts are an essential means for building for self-confidence, problem-solving skills and creativity—in addition to being fun! Intern does NOT have to be an art student or art major. Intern must have all required PA clearances prior to beginning.
The Summer Art Camp Assistant Coordinator will work closely with CALC’s Education Director to ensure that the summer camp program runs smoothly, effectively and that summer campers are safe at all times. Key duties of Assistant Coordinator will be to welcome summer campers, maintain emergency forms, be an assistant teacher, communicate with parents, manage camper snacks and sign-out campers at the end of the day. Other opportunities will be to learn the daily operations CALC and assist with various operational tasks.
