School’s OUT, Art’s IN!

CALC offers fun, creative & educational art programs for elementary and middle school children on “days off.” These classes are a collaboration with Dickinson College’s Trout Gallery. Programs will focus on language learning and art in fun-filled sessions designed to introduce children to foreign languages through art. Class fee
includes all materials for projects, mid-morning snacks, pizza lunch and drink.

Ages: 5-12
Time: 9 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Fee: $80 ($90 non-member)


November 19  ~ Dalí Day!

The Spanish artist Salvador Dalí is famous for his bizarre images that combine fantasy and reality.  Students in this program will study original works by Dalí, create their own surrealist collages, and learn to talk about them in Spanish.

February 18 ~ L’impressionism

France was the birth place of Impressionism--a style of art so full of color and life that Americans began to use it to paint Pennsylvania scenes in the 19th century.  In this program, students will examine Impressionist works from The Trout Gallery collection, learn French vocabulary for talking about art and style, and create their own impressionist paintings.

March 15 ~ Edo Japan & the Samurai

During the Edo period shoguns, emperors, and samurai created a new world that would impact Japanese civilization up to today. 
In this program, students will explore the world of Edo Japan through an exhibition at The Trout Gallery, create original prints using the methods of Edo artists, and practice speaking and writing about the Samurai in Japanese.

CALC Refund Policy for Art Classes
Carlisle Arts Learning Center does not provide a cash refund for cancellation of art classes, unless the class is cancelled by CALC. In order to request a withdrawal from a class or workshop, students must contact CALC at least 5 days before the first class meeting. Students who request a withdrawal at least 5 days prior to the first meeting will receive a 90% tuition class credit. Students withdrawing fewer than 5 days from the first day of class are not eligible for a class credit.
Please note we are unable to provide make-up opportunities, prorate or provide refunds for missed classes due to personal scheduling conflicts.
