Dynamic Watercolor

Teacher: Linda Young, PWS, BWS
Ages:  Age 18 - Adult
Fee: $135 ($145 non-member)
4 Tuesdays
April 3, 10, 24; May 1
Time:  4:30 pm to 7pm

This is a great class for those who love color and/or want to learn how to use it to make your paintings more expressive. Stretch your perception of how you see, think about, and interpret color.

Learn to create vibrant and glowing color in your watercolors by using flowing passages of wet into wet paint and combining that with overlapping transparent layers of color. Linda will show you her process for interpreting native colors into glowing color. Students will work from their own photos of landscapes of their choosing* and will re-imagine it through a study of color juxtapositions, nuances of color, layering, light, and shadow.

Fee: $135 ($145 non-member)
4 sessions -Monday:  May 14, 21 and Tuesday:  May 29; Monday June 5

If you’re in a rut and tired of copying from a photo or painting like everyone else and are ready to paint outside the box you are in, then this class is for you.  Learn the difference between representational and non representational abstracts. Student should have some experience painting with watercolor. You’ll be painting using your own artistic expression. Abstract painting is fun and becoming more popular.  You learn how to find exciting designs for an abstract painting and use negative painting, make strong compositions, use expressive color, glazing and overlapping to create drama. Students may paint on their own if desired with help always available.

Let’s have fun: Grab that “branch” and express your love of color and shapes.
