Learn
to use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements to create one or more of the following digital
projects: poster, invitation, gift card, announcement, you name it and we will attempt to
tackle it in this class. Creative ideas welcome and no prerequisite required. Photoshop
users from beginner to advanced (and everything in between!) are welcome. Just bring your
digital project idea and a willingness to tame that Photoshop beast and,
together, we will bring your creative idea(s) to fruition. A laptop or other portable
computer with a working version of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements installed is required
for this course.
MOSAIC WORKSHOP

Create your own mosaic
picture frame using 18th century memory jar techniques. Materials will be supplied;
however, you are welcome to create your personalized moment of nostalgia. Bring pieces
of broken jewelry, broken mirrors, beads or buttons from home and go home with a
new gem.

Artists! Understand YOUR framing needs and
choices. Custom picture framer and fellow multi-media artist, Pat Craig offers
professional expertise to help artists learn how to navigate the many choices of framing.
Planning on entering a competition? How to choose wisely when matting/framing work to be
judged. Best ways to frame special needs: pastels, charcoals, prints, oils,
multi-dimensional, etc. How to choose glass vs. plexi, paper vs. conservation products as
well as everything else in between
.(youll be surprised at the choices)
Understand frame styles and how they impact the viewers experience of your art. Understand
products and how pricing empowers the artist. Learn how to control your custom framing
costs Color trends and forecasts: how they can (and often do) affect you as an artist. One
day workshops designed to meet artists specific needs & questions. Artists are
asked to bring up to 3 works for design consultation. Input from fellow artists and
framing guidance from Pat will put you in the driver seat.
SCARF DYEING WORKSHOP

A
great way to get started on your holiday gift making. This workshop explores various
resist methods of dyeing silk. Participants will make 4 silk scarves using the technique
of their choice and learn to use acid dyes. Included in the material fee are the dyes
used, latex gloves and 4 scarves: 2 silk habotai and 2 silk chiffon.

made the perfect gift, now make the perfect box! Learn how to make any size box with a lid
that actually fits. After learning the basics we will create decorative boxes using
marbling, stamping and decorative paper. Students will be using sharp exacto or mat
knives.
