that you will take home that night. This ancient Japanese process of ceramics yields dramatic results!
Maureen Joyce studied at Carnegie Mellon University, Pitt University and currently studies at Harrisburg Area Community College. ‘MoJo’ had the opportunity to study in Black Mountain, NC where she rekindled her love of clay and its creative possibilities.

Weekly demonstrations will be followed by studio time for students to focus on personal techniques. Students of all skill levels will be given individual instruction on an as needed basis and will be encouraged to participate in discussions about the ceramic medium and it’s relationship to art and to society.
Kurt Brantner, Ceramicist and Artist-In-Residence at CALC. Graduated from Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA with a BFA in painting. He worked in NC at Dirt Works Pottery for a one year apprenticeship, then continued there as a production and studio potter. His studio is in Boiling Springs, PA.

Class & materials fee includes all materials and instruction as well as beverages and snacks. All skill levels welcome- our experienced potter, Thom Bissey, will insure that you’ll create a successful piece.

Thom Bissey has been a professional potter since 1987, he was educated in high-fire ceramics but moved to alternative firing experimentation. His work has been shown nationally and internationally.
Students may purchase a pottery tool kit ($15) to be picked up on the first day of class or at Open Clay Studio.

Clay Your Way, Your Day!

Customize your own wheel throwing experience for 1 to 5 students. Couples, groups of friends, or families will make this class extra fun and personal. One fee for the whole program whether a one or multiple student class.

In this class, you will be introduced to the CALC ceramic studio and clay basics. Each student’s pieces will be finish fired and made ready for a future pick-up.

CALC Refund Policy for Art Classes
Carlisle Arts Learning Center does not provide a cash refund for cancellation of art classes, unless the class is cancelled by CALC. If the student cancels with a notice of at least 30 days prior to the start of the class a gift certi cate will be issued for 100% of the class fee. If the student cancels with less than 30 days prior notice a gift certi cate will be issued for 90% of the class value.
